Everything Grape

It’s all about the grapes. The seeds, the skin, the whole enchilada. A lot of different fruits are loaded with antioxidants, and we need these to prevent and repair cell damage which could lead to cancer, heart disease and a host of other diseases.

I don’t know anyone who peels grapes so the skin should be no problem and the fruit itself is yummy. The seeds might be a problem to eat but the good news is you can juice them. That way, you get the full super antioxidant benefit of the entire grape.

Grape seed extract is one of the antioxidant supplements you can buy in pill or powder form but why bother at $10 or $15 a bottle? If there was no way to get the benefits from those seeds, I would be the first to buy a bottle but by juicing the entire grape along with the seeds, not only do you have a delicious drink, either alone or added to other juices, but you have one of the best super antioxidant potions there is.

By itself, the grape contains antioxidants, however, when you add the contents of the grape seeds, you then have vitamin E, C and beta-carotene which the liver turns into vitamin A as needed. So you see it’s worth it to get all the goodness out of that little seed.

Don’t Go Seedless

In addition, Grape seed oil, which is made from the seeds of the grape, is a healthy oil to cook with or spritz on salads. Now, unless you are really industrious or you have some kind of instrument that will turn grape seeds into grape seed oil, then you’ll need to buy this. Although, it’s touted as a vegetable oil it’s really fruit oil since grapes are fruit. This super antioxidant oil has the highest burn point of any oil and is great for deep frying, stir frying or drizzling. You can use grape seed oil just like you use any oil.

Grape seed oil as well as the juice of a grape if you juice the entire grape including the seeds, contains high levels of flavonoids, which are also antioxidants and help to increase intracellular vitamin C levels.

This super antioxidant, the grape can also be frozen and makes a wonderful snack on a hot day. Grapes are also healthy snacks for kids.

Supplements are great when they are truly needed but in the case of the grape, you can get all the health benefits you need the truly natural way. Now, where did I put my grape seed press?
